Every year the annual exhibition of Central Swiss artists ZENTRAL! in the Kunstmuseum Luzern (Museum of Art, Lucerne) comes up in Fall.
Here "Letter to the Presidents", this year's submission by Mascha Mioni and the submitted dossier as a pdf:
Three prominent works Mascha Mioni shows in her atelier at the MOAT:
- Hüllen des Menschseins / Shells of Humanity
" A powerful two-tier canvas dress painted with white oil paint is surrounded by over a hundred word images made of the same material and colored in the same way. The word images lie at the feet of the dress and spread out on the floor like a ring-shaped train. ..." - complete text by art critic Marianne Mittelholzer, Wangen, in German attached as pdf below
- Letter to the Presidents
With this letter to the presidents, painted in oil on acrylic, Mascha Mioni deals with the terrible human drama in Ukraine.
- Farewells
For this dress made of canvas and pages of text, Mascha Mioni was inspired by the book "Die Abschiede" by Friedericke Mayröcker.

"People crave for a little culture"
In an interview on May 10, 2021 with Laura Heerlien of the newspaper Leidsch Dagblatt textile artist Dorothy Wedderburn says:
"... For example, we show the Swiss Mascha Mioni with her Kundalini Snake. She takes strips of fabric from old silk saris, which she wraps around worn clothes. The work appeals to me personally, because I myself also work with old clothes and - just like her - with a lot of color."
They hoped that the artists could come, but because of Corona this does not happen. At least there will be an online event on May 26th to discuss the works shown.
Other artists that will be on display: the Dutch women Franciska Hennemann and Mirjam Piet, the Hungarian Eszter Bornemisza, Jette Clover from Belgium and the French Michele Landel. ...
